Beyonce's fourth album, 4, is to be released in the UK on Monday 27 June.
A press release from Sony BMG says the record was recorded between spring 2010 and this year.
The former Destiny's Child singer also released the full-length video for new single Run the World (Girls) on American Idol and her own website this week.
The star, who is married to rapper Jay-Z, headlines Glastonbury (26 June) and T in the Park (9 July) this summer.
Beyonce has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide as a solo artist and released her third album, I Am... Sasha Fierce, in 2008.
A statement from her record company said: "[While recording the album] she engaged in what she describes as simple things, including listening to every kind of music she truly enjoys.
"Her mixed musical gumbo will be displayed on the upcoming album.
"The title signifies not only the artist's fourth solo offering and the day of her birth but it is also a personal gift to her fans.
"For over one year now her fans around the world took to their social media pages urging her to name the album for her special number."
It's also been revealed that the video for Run the World (Girls) was filmed in Los Angeles and the Mojave desert over three days in April.
It was directed by Francis Lawrence and features more than 200 dancers and exotic animals.
