“Yeah, [it’s] great,” Harrison told Access Hollywood at the premiere of his new film, “Paranoia,” when asked about signing on for “Expendables 3.” “Exciting.”
“It’s fun,” he added.
A rep for the actor confirmed Harrison’s appearance in the upcoming film to Access on Tuesday, after franchise writer/star Sylvester Stallone Tweeted the announcement, along with news of Bruce Willis’ exit from the film.
“WILLIS OUT… HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS !!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!” Sly wrote at the time.
In speaking with Access, Harrison’s rep clarified that the “Star Wars” star will not be taking over Bruce’s role, but will appear as a new character.
“Expendables 2” starred Stallone, Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Terry Crews, Randy Couture and Liam Hemsworth.
“Expendables 3” is slated for release on August 15, 2014.
